Outdoor education is emphasized and children are encouraged to ask questions about their environment.
Play-Based, Child-Led Learning
Play is an important part of learning and developmental growth in the early years. Think of play as a child's work. Children are drawn to play because they are constantly learning new things. Play creates opportunities for social skills, cause and effect, problem solving, conflict resolution, resiliency, intrinsic motivation and so much more!
Play and the Hundred Languages

Developmentally Appropriate Practice

"Children are born eager to learn but not all settings support joyful learning. Responsive relationships are key. How educators encourage educational/social/emotional well-being is what Developmentally Appropriate Practice (DAP) is all about." - NAEYC
At Pinion Early Education Center, we strive to provide a quality, developmentally appropriate environment for our preschoolers and kindergarteners. Teachers and staff think critically when creating an inviting classroom that is inclusive of cognitive, social, emotional, educational and environmentally conscious spaces for your child. We believe the environment is the third teacher. Rooms are set up in a way that all children feel welcome and are invited to utilize all available materials to maximize their learning and enjoyment.
Meaningful Experiences
At Pinion Early Education Center we want our children to have meaningful experiences, experiences that are interesting and engaging for each student. Using observation, teachers can enhance a child's experience by trying to determine what the child is thinking. Using these observations, teachers can plan experiences that are meaningful and interesting for each child.

Life Long Love of Learning

Teachers at Pinion Early Education Center want to instill a life long love of learning in our children. Developmentally appropriate practice and meaningful experiences help us attain this. Children are encouraged to explore the classroom and everything in it. All materials are accessible to children. Children are encouraged to paint, write, color, build, read, make music and climb as much as their interest allows. By enabling children to utilize their space and materials in a way that is interesting to them, we instill a life long love of learning.
Social, Emotional and Environmental Consciousness
At Pinion Early Education Center we believe in enriching our children with the social, emotional and environmental awareness to help them achieve a greater sense of self-confidence and healthy relationships. Our body and mind are a part of this Earth, and need the upmost care and attention. Our Earth is an extremely important part of our being and needs to be loved and cared for. Teachers and staff at Pinion Early Education Center design their classroom, the school and lesson plans to encourage social and emotional regulation and environmental consciousness.

Outdoor Classroom

Outdoor play at Pinion Early Education Center is just as important as indoor play. We have created an outdoor classroom that encourages children to explore, discover and care for our Earth. Our outdoor classroom is designed to allow children to spend as much time as they need in the fresh air. Teachers utilize the outside environment when planning and executing lessons and exploration. We also encourage Outdoor Classroom Days, where classes get the opportunity to do their entire class day outside.

Physical development is an important piece of Early Childhood Education. Our outdoor play area is designed with this in mind. Pinion Early Education Center provides outdoor spaces that are engaging and encourage physical development.
